Pope Benedict XVI's entry into the competition to win the Best Classical Album of the Year award, known as the CLASSICAL BRIT AWARDS, a tradition organized by British record labels since 1977.
The Vatican Pope's choice was made following the release, at the end of last November, of the album ALMA MATER – Music from the VATICAN, which contains a collection of prayers and masses sung by the Pope himself, accompanied by classical music pieces specially composed for this occasion by three musicians, including the Moroccan composer residing in Italy, Noureddine Fatty, known in artistic circles by his first name, Noureddine.
